About Marrickville
Marrickville is a suburb in the Inner West, and it is one of the suburbs in New South Wales, Australia. It is four miles south-west of the Sydney central business district.

History of Marrickville
Marrickville got its name from the 24.3 ha “Marrick” estate of Thomas Chalder, which was later subdivided on 24 February 1855. He coined the name after his native village Marrick, North Yorkshire in England.
The first land grant in the suburb was 100 acres to William Beckwith in 1794.
